*We cut out triangle shapes from colored paper and printed 2010 from the computer.
Here's what we were working on earlier when the children were painting: a paper banner for 2010! I cut triangle shapes out of colored paper, cut out flower and leaf shapes and used the girls' glittery paintings for the center of the flowers. We glued the paper to some hay bailing twine (you could also use raffia) and my children helped me to tape on the 2010 letters, which we printed from our computer.

I love the banner, but I really LOVE the horse and rider in the back ground. Did you make that too?
Corrie, my great grandmother made the horse and rider silhouette in the background on the mantle. She was a very talented artist and contributing writer for Harpers Bazaar Magazine in the 1930s.
